Kia Sorento (MQ4, 2021-2026) Owner's Manual / Opening and Closing / Windows

All side doors of your Kia Sorento come equipped with electronic power window controls, allowing the driver and passengers to easily adjust glass height via ergonomically placed door switches.

TIP

In extremely cold or freezing rainy conditions, electrical window mechanisms may experience temporary resistance or operational failure caused by severe moisture freezing along the glass weatherstripping.

To operate any power window control in the Kia Sorento, the ignition state or ENGINE START/STOP button must be placed in the ON position.

Individual window switches are integrated into each door panel to give localized control to occupants. The driver's door armrest features a master control panel, including a power window safety lock button that instantly disables rear passenger window switches to prevent unwanted operation by children. After switching the ENGINE START/STOP button to the ACC or LOCK position, delay power window operation remains active for approximately 3 minutes. However, opening either of the front side doors will instantly cancel this delay feature, turning off power window response immediately.

If physical debris or foreign objects prevent the window glass from rolling up properly, carefully remove the obstruction from the window run channel before attempting to close it again.

TIP

When driving your Kia Sorento with the rear windows lowered or with the optional panoramic sunroof opened (either fully or partially open), you may experience a low-frequency aerodynamic vibration known as wind buffeting or atmospheric pulsation. This phenomenon is caused by air pressure differential and is completely normal. You can easily reduce or eliminate this sound by trying the following adjustments:

NOTE

Never attach or install aftermarket accessories, window visors, or object mounts that extend into the glass travel path. Physical obstructions attached to the glass edge will directly interfere with the sensitivity and operation of the Automatic Reversal Jam Protection system.

NOTE

Briefly tapping the auto up/down switch for quick micro-adjustments allows the window glass to adjust smoothly to convenient intermediate positions without engaging full travel.
