Kia Sorento: Operating conditions. Deactivating ISG
The ISG system on your Kia Sorento functions only when a strict set of environmental and mechanical parameters are met:
The driver's safety seat belt is securely fastened.
Both the driver side door and the engine compartment hood are completely closed.
Brake system vacuum pressure remains robust and adequate.
The intelligent battery sensor is active and the vehicle battery holds sufficient electrical charge.
Ambient outside temperatures are within a moderate, acceptable operating range.
You drive your Kia Sorento at a steady cruising speed prior to coming to a halt.
The cabin climate control system meets its thermal equilibrium criteria.
Your vehicle engine has reached normal operating temperature.
The road gradient slope is relatively gradual.
The steering wheel is turned less than 180 degrees right before the vehicle comes to a stop.
NOTE
If any operational precondition fails, the ISG system temporarily deactivates. The indicator light on the physical ISG OFF button lights up, and the text “Auto Stop conditions not met” is displayed across the instrument cluster screen.
If this warning message persists continuously during your drives, inspect the underlying vehicle operating conditions.
