Operating conditions

The ISG system on your Kia Sorento functions only when a strict set of environmental and mechanical parameters are met:

• The driver's safety seat belt is securely fastened.

• Both the driver side door and the engine compartment hood are completely closed.

• Brake system vacuum pressure remains robust and adequate.

• The intelligent battery sensor is active and the vehicle battery holds sufficient electrical charge.

• Ambient outside temperatures are within a moderate, acceptable operating range.

• You drive your Kia Sorento at a steady cruising speed prior to coming to a halt.

• The cabin climate control system meets its thermal equilibrium criteria.

• Your vehicle engine has reached normal operating temperature.

• The road gradient slope is relatively gradual.

• The steering wheel is turned less than 180 degrees right before the vehicle comes to a stop.

NOTE

Deactivating ISG

• To turn off the ISG system manually, press the ISG OFF console button. The embedded indicator light on the switch illuminates.
• To re-engage ISG functionality, press the ISG OFF button once more. The button indicator light turns off.
