Kia Sorento (MQ4, 2021-2026) Owner's Manual / Driving your vehicle / Brake system / Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) system

The Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) system functions as a specialized extension of vehicle dynamics control, designed specifically to stabilize your Kia Sorento and attached towed unit whenever trailer oscillations or swaying begin to develop.

Trailer swaying most frequently occurs at higher highway velocities, but can also be triggered unexpectedly by sudden crosswinds, aerodynamic buffeting from large passing trucks, or incorrect cargo weight distribution.

The following factors can cause swaying:

TSA constantly monitors vehicle sensors for signs of oscillatory instability. When the system detects dangerous trailer sway, it automatically applies targeted braking forces and throttles engine output to regain full control, returning your Kia Sorento and trailer to a stable straight-line trajectory.
