Kia Sorento: Reverse parking aid function: (if equipped)When you shift the transmission gear selector into the R (Reverse) position, the outside rearview mirrors on your Kia Sorento can automatically tilt downward to give you a clear view of curbs and ground obstacles during reverse parking maneuvers.

The physical position of the outside rearview mirror selector switch (1) determines whether or not the auto-tilt feature will engage:
Left or Right: When you slide the selector switch to either the L (Left) or R (Right) position, the auto reverse dipping function is enabled, and the mirrors will tilt when reversing.
Neutral: When the selector switch is left in the center neutral position, the outside rearview mirrors will remain stationary and will not tilt down during reverse.
The outside rearview mirrors will automatically revert to their standard driving positions under any of the following conditions:
You turn the ENGINE START/STOP ignition button to either the LOCK/OFF or ACC position.
You shift the transmission gear selector out of R (Reverse) into any other driving gear.
You return the remote control mirror selector switch back to its center neutral position.
Auto reverse user settings
If the default factory dipping angles do not provide sufficient visibility for your specific parking needs, you can easily customize and calibrate the downward tilt angles of your Kia Sorento outside rearview mirrors.
You can program individual default tilt positions for both the left and right mirrors to maximize your confidence when backing up:
How to reset auto reverse user settings
If you wish to restore the rearview mirror automatic tilt functions back to their original factory default settings, execute the following reset sequence:
NOTE
Kia recommends adhering strictly to the sequence of steps outlined above when programming or resetting the auto reverse user settings. If you skip a step or jump ahead before completing the prior action, the mirror angle may fail to save or the initialization process may not execute properly.
