WARNING

Never attempt to operate the integrated memory system while the vehicle is moving.

This could result in loss of control, and an accident causing death, serious injury, or property damage.

NOTE

Storing memory positions

  1. Shift the transmission into P (Park) while the ENGINE START/STOP button is in the ON position or the engine is running.
  2. Adjust the driver’s seat and outside rearview mirror height to your desired ergonomic positions.
  3. Press and hold memory button 1 or 2. The system will emit a single audible chime, and a confirmation message reading “Driver 1 (or 2) settings saved” will appear directly on the infotainment screen.

Recalling memory positions

  1. Shift the transmission into P (Park) while the ENGINE START/STOP button is in the ON position.
  2. Press your designated memory button (1 or 2). The system will chime once, and the driver’s seat and outside rearview mirror angles will automatically adjust to your saved preferences, ensuring a seamless transition before you drive off.

“Driver 1 (or 2) settings applied” will appear on the infotainment screen.

Seat easy access

The Seat Easy Access function in your Kia Sorento is designed to enhance cabin ergonomics by automatically shifting the driver’s seat and steering wheel to facilitate effortless entry and exit.

Exiting the vehicle

Entering the vehicle:

The driver’s seat will return to your driving position when the ENGINE START/STOP button is pressed to the ACC, ON, or START position, or when you approach with the smart key and close the driver’s door while the ignition is OFF.

You can customize or toggle the Seat Easy Access function directly through the infotainment system screen menus.

Resetting the system

Follow the precise step-by-step procedures outlined below to recalibrate and reset the integrated memory system if it stops responding properly or loses its calibration.

Resetting the integrated memory system

  1. Stop the vehicle completely, leave the driver’s door open with the ENGINE START/STOP button in the ON position, and ensure the gear selector is firmly in P (Park).
  2. Adjust the driver’s seat cushion and seatback all the way forward to their maximum limits.
  3. Press and hold memory button 1 (or 2) while simultaneously pushing the driver’s seat forward adjustment switch for more than 2 seconds.

While resetting the integrated memory system

  1. The reset sequence initiates immediately, accompanied by an audible notification chime.

  2. The driver’s seat and seatback automatically glide back toward the rearward position while the chime sounds.

  3. The driver’s seat and seatback then re-adjust to their central default calibration position with a final confirmation tone.

However, the resetting sequence and notification sounds will instantly abort if any of the following interruptions occur:

    • Any memory preset button is pressed.

    • The physical seat control switch is operated manually.

    • The transmission gear is shifted out of P (Park).

    • The vehicle driving speed exceeds 3 mph (5 km/h).

    • The driver’s door is closed during the process.

    NOTE

    • If the initialization sequence is interrupted and stops prematurely, you must restart the entire resetting procedure from the beginning.

    • Make sure the cabin floor and area around the driver’s seat are completely clear of obstacles before initiating the reset procedure.

    • After a successful system reset, you will need to re-store your preferred driver seat and mirror positions into memory.
