Low tire pressure position indicator light

When the advanced Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) warning indicators illuminate on your dashboard, it signals that one or more of your Kia Sorento tires has dropped significantly below the required pneumatic inflation threshold.

If this warning indicator activates while driving, immediately ease off the accelerator to reduce your speed, refrain from executing sharp or aggressive steering maneuvers, and anticipate longer braking distances before the vehicle comes to a complete halt. Pull over safely and inspect your tires at the earliest opportunity.

Inflate the affected tires precisely to the recommended pressure values specified on the vehicle placard or on the official tire inflation pressure label, which is conveniently located on the driver's side center pillar outer panel. If you are unable to reach a service station or if a punctured tire fails to retain newly added air, swap out the low-pressure wheel with your emergency spare tire.

The TPMS malfunction or low tire pressure indicator light may occasionally reappear shortly after restarting your Kia Sorento. Following such an event, you generally have roughly 20 minutes of continuous driving time before you must address, repair, or replace the underinflated tire.

During cold winter months or sudden drops in ambient weather, the low tire pressure indicator light may illuminate even if you previously set the tires correctly during warmer seasonal conditions. This does not indicate a system malfunction; rather, plummeting outdoor temperatures cause a natural, proportional decrease in internal tire pressure.

Always inspect and readjust your tire inflation pressures to recommended specifications under the following environmental shifts:

Simply pumping extra air into the tires may not immediately extinguish the low tire pressure indicator light. This occurs because portable tire inflators possess inherent margins of performance error. The dashboard warning light will switch off automatically once the internal sensor detects that tire pressure comfortably exceeds the minimum recommended threshold.

WARNING

Low pressure damage

Never continue driving on severely underinflated tires. Operating your Kia Sorento with critically low pressure generates extreme friction and thermal overload, causing rubber degradation, sudden tire failure, unpredictable vehicle handling, lengthened stopping distances, and a hazardous loss of control.
