While the engine is running during checks, keep your hair, loose clothing, and hands safely away from all rotating mechanical parts, such as cooling fans and drive belts, to avoid severe injury.
WARNING
Coolant reservoir cap
![]()
Never attempt to remove the engine coolant reservoir cap while the engine is hot. Scalding fluid and pressurized steam can erupt violently from the opening, causing severe burns and injuries.
CAUTION
A massive loss of coolant points directly to a serious compromise within the cooling system. Have your Kia Sorento inspected by an authorized service center as soon as possible.
Pouring cold coolant abruptly into an overheated engine can induce thermal shock, leading to cracked engine blocks or cylinder heads. To prevent catastrophic damage, add coolant gradually and in small amounts while the engine idles.
