Your Kia Sorento features robust diagnostic monitoring; however, ISG may suspend operation if a related sensor or network module encounters a fault, resulting in the following indicators:

While the engine sits in Idle Stop mode, it can crank and restart automatically without warning. Before stepping away from your vehicle or working inside the engine bay, always press the ENGINE START/STOP button to the OFF position.

NOTE

If you disconnect or swap out the Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) battery, the ISG system will not resume operation right away. The battery monitoring sensor requires approximately 4 hours of calibration time with the vehicle ignition switched OFF. Once calibration completes, cycle the engine ignition ON and OFF 2 to 3 times to restore full system readiness.
