Kia Sorento: Floor mat anchors: (if equipped)
|
When installing a floor mat on the front floor carpet of your Kia Sorento, always make sure it attaches securely to the dedicated floor mat anchors. This positive locking mechanism prevents the floor mat from sliding forward during vehicle operation.
WARNING
Aftermarket floor mat
Do not install unverified aftermarket floor mats that cannot be securely locked onto the vehicle’s floor mat anchors.
Unsecured floor mats can slip, bunch up, and dangerously interfere with accelerator or brake pedal operation.
To completely avoid pedal obstruction, use only well-fitted floor mats that anchor firmly to the floor and avoid excessive thickness. Make sure that you completely remove any protective plastic film left on the factory carpets prior to installing floor mats, as slick plastic film can cause the floor mat fixing rings to slip and break, leaving the mats unsecured.
The driver’s seat floor mat area should be inspected with particular care, because loose or migrating mats can obstruct foot controls and cause unintended acceleration or braking hazards while driving your Kia Sorento.
Observe the following safety guidelines when installing ANY floor mat in the vehicle:
Ensure that all floor mats are firmly locked onto the vehicle’s floor mat anchor posts before driving the vehicle.
Never use ANY floor mat model that lacks proper fastening grommets or cannot be firmly attached to the vehicle anchors.
Never stack multiple floor mats on top of one another (for example, placing a heavy all-weather rubber utility mat directly on top of a carpeted floor mat). Only a single approved floor mat should be installed in each seating position.
