To enhance passenger convenience and roadside safety, the Kia Sorento features configurable automated door locking and unlocking routines designed to adapt to various driving conditions.

Impact Sensing Auto Unlock System

In the event of a severe collision where airbag deployment is triggered, all doors on the Kia Sorento will automatically unlock immediately, allowing emergency responders and occupants to quickly open doors and access the cabin.

Speed Sensing Auto Door Lock System

As a core security measure, all doors automatically engage the central lock when the Kia Sorento accelerates beyond 10 mph (15 km/h). Drivers can customize or toggle these automated features through the vehicle setup menu in the instrument cluster or infotainment screen under LCD display settings.

Auto Lock Enable on Shift

When configured within the instrument cluster or infotainment settings menu, this automated safety feature commands all cabin doors to lock automatically the moment you shift the gear selector out of P (Park) while the engine is running.

Auto Unlock on Shift to P

When enabled on the central touchscreen display, all vehicle doors automatically disengage their locks as soon as the gear shift lever is returned to the P (Park) position while the vehicle ignition remains ON.

Auto Unlock on Vehicle OFF

Selecting this feature through the cluster display settings ensures that all cabin doors instantly unlock the moment the ENGINE START/STOP button is pressed to turn the vehicle completely OFF.
