Kia Sorento: Adjusting the outside rearview mirrors. Folding the outside rearview mirror
The electric remote control mirror switch located on the driver's door panel allows you to precisely adjust the physical viewing angle of both the left and right outside rearview mirrors.
|
To adjust the outside rearview mirrors on your Kia Sorento, follow these step-by-step instructions:
NOTE
The mirror glass will automatically stop moving when it reaches its maximum mechanical adjustment angle, but the internal electric motor will continue to run for as long as you hold down the switch. To prevent premature motor burnout or electrical damage, do not press and hold the switch longer than necessary.
Never attempt to physically push or adjust the outside rearview mirrors by hand on electric-equipped models. Doing so can strip the internal gears and permanently damage their components.
Manual type: (if equipped)
To fold the outside rearview mirror manually, firmly grasp the outer housing of the mirror assembly and push it smoothly toward the rear of the vehicle until it locks into its stowed position.
|
Electric type: (if equipped)
You can conveniently fold or unfold the outside rearview mirrors on your Kia Sorento by simply pressing the dedicated power folding button as illustrated below:
|
CAUTION
The electric power folding and adjustment functions for your Kia Sorento mirrors remain active even when the ENGINE START/STOP button is placed in the LOCK or OFF positions. To prevent unnecessary battery drain, avoid operating the mirror motors repeatedly while the engine is turned off.
NOTE
Never manually force an electric-type outside rearview mirror to fold or unfold by hand. Forcing the motorized assembly manually can strip the internal gears and cause permanent motor failure.
