Kia Sorento (MQ4, 2021-2026) Owner's Manual / Controls and Features / Windshield defrosting and defogging

Accumulated frost, ice, or condensation on the windshield severely compromises forward visibility and must be cleared promptly to ensure safe driving conditions in your Kia Sorento.

WARNING: Windshield heating safety guidelines

Do not activate the Front windshield defrost mode icon on the Kia Sorento climate control interface or Front window defogger activation button icon on the Kia Sorento dashboard setting while running the air conditioning in extremely high humidity conditions. The sharp temperature differential between the chilled exterior airflow and the glass surface can cause moisture to condense on the outer surface of the windshield, instantly obscuring your vision. In such humid weather, switch the airflow mode to Floor-level airflow ventilation direction icon for the Kia Sorento climate system and set the fan speed to its lowest level.
