Defroster

Your Kia Sorento is equipped with a dedicated rear window defroster designed specifically to clear frost, ice, and stubborn fog from the rear glass.

NOTE: To prevent permanent damage to the delicate electrical conductors bonded directly to the inner surface of the rear window, never clean the glass using sharp instruments or abrasive window cleaning chemical products.

To clear frost or condensation from the front windshield, please refer to the detailed instructions provided in the Windshield defrosting and defogging section.

The high-performance rear defroster applies electrical current to heat the window grid, swiftly melting frost, fog, and light ice accumulations from the rear glass while the engine is running.

If your Kia Sorento has accumulated a heavy blanket of snow on the rear hatch, brush the loose snow away manually before activating the rear defroster.

Outside mirror defroster: (if equipped)

If your Kia Sorento features heated exterior mirrors, the outside mirror defrosters will activate automatically whenever you turn on the rear window defroster, ensuring clear side visibility during freezing mornings.

Defogging logic: (if equipped)

To minimize the risk of window fogging inside the cabin, the smart climate architecture of your Kia Sorento automatically modulates fresh air intake and A/C compressor operation based on environmental sensors, displaying changes through modes like Primary defogging logic active indicator icon on the Kia Sorento display or Secondary climate ventilation logic icon for the Kia Sorento.

To cancel or restore the automatic defogging logic settings, follow the step-by-step procedures outlined in the two sections below.
