In addition to the electronic buttons, the 2nd-row seat can also be manually unlocked and folded forward by pulling the emergency manual release strap situated under the rear base of the 2nd-row seatback. An instructional icon tag is attached to the strap for quick identification inside your Kia Sorento.

WARNING
Walk-In Feature Safety Warning
Never operate the 2nd-row walk-in release switch or pull the manual strap while the vehicle is driving or when the 2nd-row seat is occupied. Unintended seat activation while in motion causes the seat to pitch forward rapidly, creating serious injury risks to Kia Sorento occupants.
Upon activating the walk-in release switch or manual strap, the 2nd-row seatback automatically folds flat toward the cushion and slides the entire seat assembly forward to create a wide entryway to the 3rd row.
WARNING
Manual Strap Usage Precautions
Do not pull the emergency release strap when the 2nd-row seats are occupied by passengers.
Rapid, sudden movement of the seat assembly during movement can lead to personal injury. The emergency pull strap should only be utilized in instances where the electronic one-touch folding switches located on the upper seatback or lower outer base of the 2nd-row seat fail to operate inside your Kia Sorento.
The rear seatbacks in your Kia Sorento feature a versatile fold-down mechanism engineered to accommodate long cargo or significantly expand the overall luggage capacity of the vehicle for travel and daily hauling.
WARNING
Folded Seatback Safety Hazards
Do not sit on folded down seatbacks. The primary function of the fold-down rear seatbacks in your Kia Sorento is strictly to allow the transportation of longer objects that cannot otherwise fit in the standard boot space.
Never permit any passenger to sit on top of a folded-down seatback while the car is moving. This is not a designated or safe seating position, as the seat loses its critical crash protection features, and seat belts cannot be worn in this folded configuration.
To reduce the risk of severe personal injury caused by sliding cargo within the passenger cabin of your Kia Sorento, items carried over the folded seatbacks should never extend higher than the top of the front seatback headrests.

Cargo Height Restrictions
Cargo loaded on top of folded seatbacks in your Kia Sorento must never extend higher than the top of the front seatbacks. Excessively high cargo can easily slide forward into the front passenger area, causing severe bodily injury or vehicle interior damage during emergency braking or impact.
