Kia Sorento: Headrest (for rear seat)The rear seating rows in your Kia Sorento come standard with dedicated headrests at every seating position to prioritize passenger safety, neck support, and riding comfort across all journeys.
|
Beyond providing ergonomic relaxation, each rear headrest functions as vital protective equipment designed to cushion the head and limit dangerous hyperextension of the neck during a rear crash.
To offer maximum protection in the event of an accident, position the headrest cushion so that its center aligns vertically with the occupant's center of gravity. For most adults and teenagers, this center point sits approximately level with the top of the eyes.
Position the headrest cushion as close to the back of the occupant's head as comfortably possible. Because proper proximity is critical for crash safety, avoid placing auxiliary cushions or thick backrests that push the rider's torso away from the seatback in your Kia Sorento.
Adjusting the height up and down (2nd row seat)
|
To raise a 2nd-row headrest, grip the cushion and pull it straight up until it locks into your desired notch position. To lower the headrest, press and hold the lock release button (1) located on the support stem collar while pushing the headrest cushion down to the required height.
Removal and reinstallation (2nd row seat)
|
To remove a 2nd-row headrest, lift it upward as far as it will extend, then press and hold the stem release button (1) while pulling the entire headrest unit up and out of the seatback frame.
To reinstall the 2nd-row headrest, insert the metal posts back into the mounting guide holes while holding down the release button (1). Slide the stems down and adjust the headrest to an appropriate height setting for your passenger.
WARNING
To ensure proper protection for all vehicle occupants, always verify that the headrest locks firmly into its adjustment notch after making any adjustments or reinstalling it in your Kia Sorento.
3rd row headrest
|
|
The 3rd-row headrest is designed to fold down automatically whenever you collapse the corresponding seatback to expand cargo capacity in your Kia Sorento.
To manually fold the headrest forward when the seat is upright, firmly pull the release strap attached to the headrest structure.
To unfold the headrest back into its functional state, manually pull the cushion upward until it clicks into its upright lock.
Always check that the headrest is securely locked in its upright position after restoring the rear seatbacks for passenger seating.
