• Leading Vehicle Departure Alert: When enabled, this feature will provide an alert to notify you the moment a vehicle ahead departs from a stationary position.

The core objective of the Driver Attention Warning system in your Kia Sorento is to prioritize safety by actively monitoring your focus and suggesting necessary breaks during long or monotonous journeys.

(A) Consider taking a break

When the system detects that your attention level has dropped below a predefined threshold, the Inattentive Driving Warning light () will begin to blink. Simultaneously, a clear warning message appears on the instrument cluster, accompanied by an audible chime to prompt you to stop and rest.

• To prevent unnecessary alerts, the Driver Attention Warning system will not suggest a break if the total driving duration is under 4 minutes, nor will it sound an alert within 4 minutes of a previous suggestion.

For your safety, always adjust vehicle settings only after parking the Kia Sorento securely at a safe location.

• Please note that the Driver Attention Warning system may recommend a break based on specific driving patterns or habits, even if you feel perfectly alert.

• The Leading Vehicle Departure Alert may not display a message or generate sound if the system is currently prioritizing another safety warning message or chime.

• As the driver, you remain solely responsible for maintaining vehicle control and ensuring safe operation at all times.

• This alert is a convenience function; it may not trigger every time the vehicle ahead moves, so always maintain active observation of traffic conditions.
