Kia Sorento: Cup holder. Seat warmer: (if equipped)
|
|
|
|
You may place standard cups, travel mugs, or small beverage cans securely in the dedicated cup holders designed throughout the cabin of your Kia Sorento.
WARNING: Hot Liquids Safety
Do not place uncovered containers filled with hot liquids into the cup holders while the vehicle is in motion. Sudden acceleration, braking, or turning maneuvers could cause hot liquid to spill, resulting in severe burns to vehicle occupants. Furthermore, a driver suffering from sudden burns could easily lose control of the Kia Sorento, leading to a dangerous traffic accident.
WARNING: Pressurized Containers
Always keep canned or bottled beverages protected from direct sunlight, and never leave pressurized containers inside a parked vehicle exposed to high ambient temperatures. Under extreme heat buildup, these containers can rupture or explode.
NOTE
To prevent accidental spills and liquid damage while driving your Kia Sorento, always ensure your drinks remain properly sealed. If liquid spills out, it can seep into sensitive vehicle electrical or electronic control modules underneath the console and cause costly component failures.
When cleaning up spilled liquids, refrain from using external heat sources such as hair dryers or heat guns to dry out the cup holders, as excessive heat can permanently warp or melt the surrounding plastic trim.
The integrated seat warmer system provides rapid and adjustable thermal comfort for vehicle occupants during chilly weather conditions in your Kia Sorento.

With the ENGINE START/STOP ignition button switched to the ON position:
Simply push either of the dedicated control switches to activate the heating elements for the driver's seat or the front passenger's seat in your Kia Sorento.
During mild weather seasons or whenever seat heating is unnecessary, keep the control switches turned off to conserve vehicle electrical power.
To protect against unintended operation, the seat warmer system automatically defaults to the OFF state every time the ENGINE START/STOP button is cycled ON.
Temperature control (manual)
Each time you press the seat warmer control button, the thermal intensity level cycles sequentially through the following stages:
Front seat heating cycle:
OFF > High > Medium > Low > OFF
Rear seat heating cycle:
OFF > High > Low > OFF
Temperature control (automatic)
To prevent low-temperature burns following manual activation on the high setting, the seat warmer automatically steps down its thermal output over time according to a pre-programmed schedule:
|
Temperature |
Duration |
|---|---|
|
OFF |
- |
|
High |
30 minutes |
|
Medium |
60 minutes |
|
Low |
- |
You can manually press the button again to increase the seat temperature if desired; however, the system will revert to its managed automatic regulation profile after a brief operational period.
To turn off the seat warmer immediately at any time, press and hold the control button for more than 1.5 seconds.
TIP: When the seat warmer controls are active, the internal heating grid cycles on and off automatically based on real-time surface temperature feedback to maintain optimal thermal comfort inside the Kia Sorento.
CAUTION
When cleaning the upholstery, never use aggressive organic solvents such as paint thinner, benzene, industrial alcohol, or gasoline, as these chemicals will permanently damage the leather or fabric and ruin the underlying heating elements.
To prevent overheating and potential thermal damage, avoid placing thick heat-insulating items—such as heavy blankets, foam cushions, or aftermarket seat covers—on the seats while the seat warmer is operating in your Kia Sorento.
Do not place heavy, concentrated loads or sharp tools on seats equipped with integrated heating components to avoid severing internal wires.
Never modify or replace factory seat covers with unauthorized alternatives, which can obstruct heat dissipation and damage the seat heating or ventilation systems.
WARNING: Seat Warmer Burn Hazard
Passengers must exercise extreme care when utilizing seat warmers, as prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures can cause thermal burns even at relatively low heat settings. The driver must maintain heightened vigilance when operating seat warmers for vulnerable individuals:
Infants, young children, elderly passengers, individuals with physical disabilities, or hospital patients
Persons with delicate, sensitive skin or those prone to easy thermal blistering
Extremely fatigued or exhausted individuals
Intoxicated passengers
Individuals taking prescription medications that induce drowsiness, deep sleep, or reduced sensory perception (such as sleeping pills or heavy cold medications)
