Kia Sorento: Road warning. Hazard lights switch. If the engine does not start
When an unexpected emergency situation occurs while you are driving your Kia Sorento or when you are forced to park along the edge of the road, immediately turn your hazard warning lights ON to alert approaching traffic and prompt other drivers to exercise heightened caution as they navigate past your vehicle.
The integrated hazard lights serve as a critical safety signal, warning oncoming and overtaking motorists to exercise extreme caution when approaching your stationary Kia Sorento.
|
Activate the hazard lights whenever your vehicle is immobilized near the edge of the roadway, disabled in traffic, or undergoing urgent roadside repairs.
Depress the physical hazard lights switch with the ENGINE START/STOP button engaged in any power position. The hazard lights switch is conveniently positioned right in the center front dash panel, forcing all exterior turn signal lamps to flash simultaneously.
The hazard lights switch functions independently of the engine ignition state, operating seamlessly whether your Kia Sorento engine is actively running or completely shut down.
Standard directional turn signal lights are temporarily disabled while the master hazard flashers are actively turned ON.
Exercise heightened awareness and caution when utilizing hazard lights while your vehicle is being towed behind another transport unit.
If your Kia Sorento engine fails to start when commanded, systematically verify basic parameters first by checking your current fuel level gauge and assessing whether the 12-volt battery has suffered a discharge.
CAUTION
Never attempt to push-start or pull-start your Kia Sorento using another vehicle. Doing so can introduce severe mechanical and electrical damage to the powertrain. Refer instead to the proper jump-starting guidelines.
