The Vehicle Auto Shut-off system engages automatically when all specified operational parameters are met simultaneously:
The ENGINE START/STOP ignition button is toggled to the ON position.
Your Kia Sorento is completely stationary with the transmission shifted into P (Park).
The driver's safety seat belt remains unfastened.
The driver's entry door is open.
The front passenger seat is empty and unoccupied.
TIP
The factory default countdown duration for the system is set to 60 minutes.
You can easily reset and extend the active countdown timer of the Vehicle Auto Shut-off system by performing any of the following actions:
Depress and release the brake pedal.
Press down on the accelerator pedal.
Manually reconfigure the timer settings through the dashboard menu.
Press the OK control button located on the steering wheel.
The Vehicle Auto Shut-off sequence cancels immediately if any of the following vehicle changes occur:
Your Kia Sorento accelerates to a driving speed above 2 mph (3 km/h).
The transmission gear selector is moved into D (Drive), R (Reverse), or N (Neutral).
You click and fasten your seat belt.
