Cargo security screen: (if equipped)

Use the retractable cargo security screen to conceal valuables and personal items stored in the rear trunk area of your Kia Sorento from outside view.

NOTE

Never place heavy luggage, boxes, or heavy cargo directly on top of the extended cargo security screen fabric, as this will permanently stretch and damage the assembly. Unsecured luggage placed on top can also break free and injure vehicle occupants during sudden braking or an accident.

WARNING

• Never allow any passenger to ride in the rear luggage compartment. The trunk area is engineered strictly for cargo transport.

• Maintain proper vehicle weight distribution by packing heavier pieces of luggage as far forward against the rear seatbacks as possible.

To use the cargo security screen

1. Grasp the integrated handle (1) and pull the cargo security screen smoothly toward the rear of the vehicle.
2. Insert both guide pins securely into the side retention slots (2).

   NOTE

   To prevent the spring-loaded guide pins from accidentally slipping out of their track slots, always pull and guide the cargo security screen straight out using the centered handle.

3. When you no longer need the security screen extended, pull the handle slightly backward and lift up to release the guide pins from their side slots.

   The cargo security screen will automatically recoil and slide back into its spring-loaded housing roll.

   TIP

   The cargo security screen may fail to retract automatically if it was not pulled out to its full extension lock point. Pull it out fully to release the internal ratchet mechanism and then let go.

To remove the cargo security screen

1. Push the spring-loaded guide pin inward in the direction indicated in the following reference illustration:
2. While holding the guide pin compressed inward, lift and pull the entire cargo security screen assembly out of its mounting brackets.
3. Open the under-floor luggage tray cover and store the cargo security screen safely inside the dedicated floor storage compartment.

To remove the cargo security screen from the luggage tray

1. Pull up the upper storage floor board panel.
2. Push the guide pin in the precise direction shown in the following technical illustration:
3. While keeping the guide pin depressed, pull the cargo security screen entirely out of the storage bay.

Essential emergency tools and equipment are neatly stowed directly beneath the modular luggage board floor cover for fast, easy access when needed.

1. Grasp the integrated fabric handle located on top of the luggage cover panel and lift upward.
2. Fold the rear section of the luggage board forward.
3. Lift up the entire luggage board assembly to access the sub-floor storage area.
