Second Generation XM (2011-2020) / Kia Sorento XM 2011-2020 Service Manual / Restraint / Seat Belt Pretensioner / Emergency Fastening Device (EFD) Removal

1.
Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for at least thirty seconds before beginning work.
2.
Remove the EFD cover pad (A).

3.
Remove the seat belt after pushing the lock pin with a fiat-tip screwdriver (B).

4.
Remove the door scuff trim. (Refer to the Body group- Interior trim)
5.
Remove the center pillar trim. (Refer to the Body group- Interior trim)
6.
Disconnect the EFD connector (A).

7.
Loosen the EFD mounting bolt (B) and remove the EFD.
